1 The Name, Objects & Type of Club

1.1 The name of the Club is Garstang Ladies Hockey Club.

1.2 The financial year is from 1st May to 30th April.

1.3The object of the Club shall be to encourage and promote women’s hockey and make available playing and coaching opportunities for members.

1.4 The Club shall be a members club open to all.

2 Membership and Fees

2.1The Club will support a 1st XI, 2nd XI & 3rd XI, a junior development squad and further teams if the membership is sufficient. The 1st XI will have priority of selection of players. If available, players must play for the team for which they have been selected.

2.2The Annual Subscription rate for members will be agreed at the Club’s A.G.M.

2.3Annual subscriptions must be paid in full by the 1st October or, if players join the Club mid-season, within one month of joining. Fixture books will be issued at the start of the season.

2.4Membership is subject to the payment of appropriate fees.

3 Committee & Officers

3.1The Club committee will meet as often as required during the year and will have authority to make decisions regarding club matters on behalf of all members and for their benefit. The Club Chairman has the authority to call an Extraordinary General Meeting giving at least 10 days notice to members.

3.2The following Club officers will be elected at the A.G.M.: Hon President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Head Coach & Disciplinary Officer, Assistant Coach & Official Photographer; Junior Welfare Officer & Coach; 3rd Team Coach, Social Secretary, Fundraising Secretary and Kit Secretary.

3.3The Club committee will consist of the elected officers, 1st, 2nd & 3rd XI Captains and Vice Captains, and any other individuals the Committee may wish to co-opt. A member of the committee should represent the club at Lancashire Central Hockey League meetings.

3.4If a Club officer resigns during their term of office, the Club committee will appoint a temporary successor to act until the next A.G.M.

3.5Hon. Life members may be appointed at the discretion of the Club committee for outstanding service to the Club.

4Playing Matters & Equipment

4.1The Club’s team colours are red shirts, red skorts and red socks. White shirts and socks to be worn if necessary. The club is responsible for providing playing shirts; and players are responsible for providing their own skorts and socks. Should players loose their playing shirts then they must pay £30 to the Club, to replace it.

4.2The Head Coach is responsible for the selection of teams at the beginning of each season.

4.3The Captains and Vice Captains of the 1st and 2nd XI’s will be chosen by the Head Coach. The Captain and Vice Captain of the 3rd XI will be chosen by the 3rd Team Coach.

4.4The club is responsible for purchasing necessary equipment, and for keeping it in good repair.

4.5The procedure for ordering equipment etc on behalf of the Club is that permission is needed from a minimum no. of 3 Committee members before an order is placed. Receipts must be kept for claiming the money back.

5 Conduct of Members

5.1 The Club Committee may suspend the membership of any member whose conduct has been, in the opinion of the Club Committee, contrary to the interests of the Club.

6 Changes to the Constitution of the Club

6.1 These rules may be altered, added to or revoked, by a majority vote at any General Meeting of the Club.
